CandleMakerUK Handmade Beeswax Candles

Did you know...

Beeswax can improve air quality - burning beeswax discharges negative ions, they attach themselves to positive ions (dust, etc.), which become heavy and fall to the floor for easy cleaning and removal.

An average hive is home to around 40 thousand bees.

Bees visit 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey and then eat 8 pounds of honey to produce one pound of beeswax!

Light up your life...

Beeswax is natural with a pleasant honey like fragrance, it is non-toxic, non-drip and slow burning with a warm glowing flame. My candles do not contain animal, genetically modified or petro-chemical ingredients and are suitable for Vegans and the environmentally aware.

Natural beeswax is just that ... but without any pollen or hive debris. Ivory is natural with the honey colour removed and colours are vegetable dyed onto Ivory wax. Natural beeswax is the most fragrant so except for cones all candles are hand made around a natural core.

Wicks are 100% cotton braided, primed and correctly sized for each candle to promote a clean and even burn.

I do not supply any retail outlets, my candles are only available via the Internet as I prefer to communicate with clients to ensure each candle is exactly as required.

Each candle is hand made to order and very individual in a variety of vegetable dyed colours and designs with a natural or decorative finish - it doesn't have to be Christmas to add a little sparkle to your life!

Whether you prefer natural candles, something special or more unusual you can be assured of the quality and attention to detail associated with fine craftwork.

I offer made to measure and bespoke services for special occasions - birthdays, christenings, weddings, anniversaries, first communion, memorials and so on together with seasonal candles for Christmas, Easter, Guy Fawkes, Halloween, Valentines and Holidays & High Days.

Candle Burning Tips

bullet The heart of a good candle is a good wick! Before buying any candle check the wick - make sure it is central and visible at both ends.
bullet When buying pillars check several different diameters for wick size, if they are all the same someone hasn't done their math's and one or more of the candles will not burn well.
bullet Wicks should be trimmed to 1/4" (1/2 cm) before and during each burn.
bullet Light the wick from above, preferably with a match or spill.
bullet Pillar candles should be burned for one hour per inch (2.5 cm) diameter on first lighting, this will reduce uneven melting and prime the candle for each burn.
bullet Smoking candles are often caused by old wick or dirt in the melt pool - extinguish
bullet Regardless of the quality a scented candle will usually smoke more than a natural unscented one.
